Jewel of Honor

Introduction

The Mosaic Lodge Jewel of Honor is a series of awards issued to our most active brothers.  There are many ways you can be involved in our lodge and we list the points awarded for your activities.

Although we are currently improving the methods for recording your activities, please send an email to the Junior Warden, Roy Cherry (roy.cherry@me.com) with your activities and dates.

Awards

500 Points – Bronze Jewel with Blue Ribbon

1,000 Points – Silver Jewel with Blue Ribbon

1,500 Points – Gold Jewel with Blue Ribbon

2,000 Points – Bronze Jewel with White Ribbon

2,500 Points – Silver Jewel with White Ribbon

3,000 Points – Gold Jewel with White Ribbon

Activities and Points

We want to encourage members to: 
  • Attend Lodge and Lodge functions 
  • Be able correctly do the opening and closings for all rolls and all Degrees, including stepping up or down. 
  • Attend and take an active role in Degrees 
  • Learn lectures and major degree parts 
  • Participate in Masonic education, particularly in the role as presenter, poster and mentor 
  • Participate in and represent Mosaic Lodge #184 at Youth Events 
  • Learn and certify as the Grand Lodge proficiencies 
  • Learn and certify in Funeral Service Participate in other Lodge Sponsored Charitable and Community Functions, such as Blood Drives, Work Days, attendance at Mosaic Lodge Funeral Services, Sister Carmen, FISH, assistance to fellow brothers, widow, and orphans, visitations to sick and disabled brothers, bringing brother to Lodge meetings and other functions, etc.
To this extent, the following awards are given to your activities:

5 Bringing a prospect to any appropriate Mosaic Lodge public event [Does not include prospect’s family members, unless they too are a Prospect] Maximum points obtainable for one day is 10 points
5 Representing Mosaic 184 at an Eastlake Masonic Center Temple Board Meeting
5 Visiting an ill brother or a brother who is not able to attend Lodge
5 When a new brother attends Mosaic Lodge for the first time, or when an existing brother brings another brother to Lodge who has not attended Lodge in a while.
10 Attendance at a Mosaic 184 Stated Communication
10 Attendance at a Mosaic 184 Special Communication
10 Attendance at a Mosaic 184 Funeral Service
10 Attendance and participation at a Mosaic 184 Workday
10 Per day attendance at Grand Lodge Annual Communication or Budget Session, and/or attendance participation in a Grand Lodge sponsored training functions such as Warden's Conferences, etc.  Maximum points receivable 10 per day 

10 Visitation at any Blue Lodge Stated or Special Communication if officially representing Mosaic 184
 [Note: Maximum obtainable points for this category is 100 points per year]
10 Participation in a Mosaic Lodge Degree Practice. Maximum points receivable 10 per day 

10 Participation in a Mosaic Lodge Committee Meeting. Maximum points receivable 10 per day
10 Presenter at a Mosaic Lodge Education Meeting. Maximum points receivable 10 per day 

10 Participation in a Mosaic Lodge Public Awareness Event. Maximum points receivable 10 per day
10 Participation in a other Mosaic Lodge function, such as Cornerstone ceremony or as a member of an investigating committee [Maximum points obtainable is 10 points per official event, and does not include attendance at Temple Board Meetings]
10 Candidate Posting Practice (Postor & Postee) [Maximum points obtainable for one day is 10 points]

10 Candidate Posting at a Stated Communication (Postor & Postee). Maximum points obtainable for one day is 10 points

10 Providing a Mentoring/Training session to another Mosaic 184 Mason, other than a Degree Proficiency Posting Session. Maximum points obtainable for one day is 10 points
10 Participation in a Mosaic Lodge Degree
25 Speaker at an official Mosaic Lodge Public Awareness Event. Maximum points obtainable for one day is 25 points
50 First Line signer on a Mosaic Lodge petition/affiliation [Points are earned once a new candidate completes his Master Mason degree, and once the Brother successfully completed his Master Mason Proficiency and has been declared Proficient by the Worshipful Master and his Lodge dues are paid.  In the case of an affiliation of a Master Mason, points are awarded once he has been accepted by the Lodge and his Lodge dues are paid]
50 Proficiency as a Mosaic Lodge Master Mason – for the Master Mason himself [Instead of the regular 10 points awarded to a postee listed above]
75 Successful completion of the Master Mason Long Form Proficiency, as opposed to the Standard form Proficiency at a Mosaic Lodge Stated or Special Communication.  This is instead of the regular 50 points awarded for proficiency as a Master Mason as listed above
100 First time proficient performance of one of the six degree lecturers, in a Mosaic Lodge degree [Instead of the regular 10 points awarded for participation in a Mosaic Lodge degree listed above]

100 First time performance as 1st section Master, on each Degree, in a Mosaic Lodge degree [Instead of the regular 10 points awarded for participation in a Mosaic Lodge degree listed above]
100 First time performance before the District Lecturer or Mosaic Lodge Director of the Work: Opening & Closing of all three degrees, accurately performing all parts from memory
100 First time certification by District Lecturer of the Grand Lodge Funeral Service
250 Qualification for an A Card Proficiency from the Colorado Grand Lodge
250 Qualification for an B Card Proficiency from the Colorado Grand Lodge

300 First time performance in the role of Worshipful Master in a Degree, in which the brother does all parts of the Worshipful Master in all sections of the degree, including all lectures and related parts.
Special Points Special Points Assigned by the Worshipful Master for Special Lodge related actions that are considered to be “Above & Beyond” the duties of a brother.
